Hi there! My name is Whalen Vandersnee, and I've lived in Ravens Bluff all my life. A couple years ago, I became a priest of Selune like my parents (Leonidas and Anastasia) and started hanging around with all the adventurers that crawl all over the city. Wow! You hear the best stories, since there are all sorts of elves and dwarves and gnomes and halflings around, and they've been all over the place. I hope that I get to travel someday. I've never been very far from Ravens Bluff, but that's part of adventuring! Going and seeing strange places! My dumb brother Ozymandias (he's a paladin) isn't excited about travelling, but he's always been the odd one in the family. Selune let him be a paladin, though, so he's not all bad, I guess.

Temple of Selune

Well, I guess that I have been pretty far from Ravens Bluff, a lot farther than most of the people I talk to. I don't like to talk about it, but I lost a bet with this Lord Vondryx character, and I had to spend three whole months in the Abyss. It wasn't any fun at all. That's why my hair is white. Oh, no, I wasn't doing anything evil. During the war, there was this gate thingy that was letting demons into the city, and Ambassador Carrague talked with this Vondryx to help close the gate, and he gave some information on finding the gate. The side bet was that if we only used one item of protection, and let our opponents attack first, and closed the gate, then we would get some adventurers released from the Abyss. Well, I said yes, because I'm a nice guy, but we didn't get the gate closed by dawn. So, I can tell you, don't make any deals with demons. It's not a very smart thing to do.

Oh, yeah, and I'm a Corporal in the Harbor Patrol. My parents were so proud, although my dumb brother didn't care. I got invited in because I helped defeat this priestess of Umberlee. I would have done it anyway, because Umberlee is so bad, and not very good for the ships Selune looks after. And I was at this party on this other plane along with Chief Sunriver, and we saved all the guests (it was a trap), so I got promoted to Corporal.

Want to see my favorite possession? I just got it from this nice wizard names Selphiras. (It was raining the whole time we worked together, and for some reason she liked it a lot. She's weird.) She got to go to Selune (the moon, not the goddess) once, and she picked up a rock from there. Really cool, isn't it? I think I need to get it put on a chain so I can wear it next to my holy symbol to make it more powerful.
