I'm a big fan of anime (Japanese animation) and manga (Japanese comic books). I note that there's a lot of manga influences leaking into American comics nowadays, but those here are the real thing, not strangeness like "Manga Spiderman" or "Manga X-Men".

Oh! My Goddess!: Student Keiichi, though some twists of fate, has all three fates (the goddesses Skuld, Urd and Keiichi's girlfriend Belldandy) living with him. The art in the manga is absolutely beautiful, although the stories have be accused of being a bit shallow and saccharine. By Kosuke Fujishima; currently in English translation by Dark Horse. (and a 5-episode anime series); Fujishima has also done a series called You're Under Arrest, about two partners (Miyuki and Natsumi) in a police precinct. Unfortunately, Dark Horse only translated eight issues of this manga a few years back. I think that I almost prefer this series slightly. (there's a 4-episode anime series, as well)
Ranma 1/2: Ranma is a young Japanese martial artist who was taken by his father Genma for training in China; they accidentally fell in a cursed spring and now being splashed with cold water makes Genma into a panda, and Ranma into a girl. Fortunately, he gets along well with the fiancee that Genma previously promised him to. NOT! This is by Rumiko Takahashi, who has also done Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku and others. All three are currently being translated by Viz. (The picture at right is of both of Ranma's forms.)
Dirty Pair: Kei and Yuri are troubleshooters officially known as the Lovely Angels, but their penchant for "accidentally" destroying city blocks (and sometimes, the city itself) has given them the nickname Dirty Pair. DP has been around many, many years in many incarnations. The latest I know of are five miniseries done by Adam Warren here in the States. Hilarious!
